CrewLabs Desktop
CrewLabs Desktop is a managed macOS app with an AI agent built in. You sign in with your CrewLabs account, the app sets up the agent, and you start talking to it. There are no API keys to bring and nothing to host yourself.
The agent is the product. It is a self-improving agent, not a chat window over a single model.
- It remembers. What you tell it carries across conversations. You don't re-introduce yourself or re-explain context every time you open the app.
- It learns and uses skills. It builds up procedures for the work you ask for and reuses them. Over time it gets better at the things you actually do.
- It runs real tools. It can search the web, read and write files, call APIs, and act — not just describe what to do.
- It can be proactive. With the heartbeat turned on, it decides on its own whether anything is worth telling you about and reaches out when it is. Off by default.
Channels are one feature
The desktop app has a chat built in, always on. But the same agent can also reach you on the channels you already use — WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, and more. It's one agent with one memory across all of them. Ask it something from WhatsApp and have it post the answer in Slack; the channel is just where the conversation happens.
See Channels for how to connect them.
Who it's for
CrewLabs Desktop is for people who want a working agent without standing up infrastructure. You sign in, set up your Crew, and use it — the runtime, models, and billing are managed for you. If you'd rather run the agent yourself on your own hardware, with your own provider keys, the self-hosted runtime is documented in Getting Started and the rest of these docs. The desktop app is the managed path; everything below it is the build-it-yourself path.
